Setting a Precedent

For the customer looking to purchase a solid, economical, well-built product that will last for years we offer the AEV line of Ambulances.

If you have seen an AMR Ambulance on the street, or for that matter just about any privately owned ambulance, there is a good chance you've seen an AEV. That's because the companies that require durable products that survive the daily abuse of EMS response but fit into a tight budget, choose AEV.

The Heritage of Craftsmanship

AEV just happens to be located in the heart of North Carolina's mountain country. Along with this unique geography comes the equally unique decades-long history and heritage of crafting the world-class furniture for which North Carolina is known. The can-do attitude and work ethic of AEV's craftsmen and technicians is exemplified at each stage of vehicle production, from custom engineered electrical systems to cabinetry built and installed with the same care and pride as furniture.

A Company that Grows with You

AEV's unprecedented growth since the late 80s indicates their formula works for their customers. As a prospective vehicle purchaser, we encourage you to consult with an extensive list of satisfied AEV owners. These operations extend from coast to coast, and vary from national fleets to one-vehicle rescue squads. AEV vehicles are built to stay up and running, keep costs down, and increase return on investment for as long as possible.

ZeroRPM Idle Mitigagion System

Your EMTs are never off-duty and neither is their ambulance. Always on call, your fleet is often idling all day and all night to keep vital equipment protected: HVAC, interior/exterior lighting, communications equipment, electrical systems; including batteries, chargers, narcotics, temperature-controlled compartments, life-support systems, and more. That’s why departments choose ZeroRPM, because when every second counts, an ambulance crew must always be ready to go.

With ZeroRPM, ambulance owners will see a decrease in fuel consumption, a reduction in CO2 emissions, and a decline in their vehicle operating costs. Designed to alleviate the expenses and complications that come from constantly running an ambulance’s engine, use of the ZeroRPM Idle Mitigation System (IMS) results in less risk to the environment and personal health. You’ll also see an extension of the ambulance’s chassis life, which means ZeroRPM is a win-win for patients, crews, and your entire ambulance fleet.

AEV Type II

The backbone of the industry, the Type II van moves more patients than any other type of ambulance, and if you've seen a type II, there's a good chance it was an AEV. More and more Type II customers are moving to AEV because they have found it to be the greatest value available, offering solid construction, safety, and durability, all in an affordable package.

AEV Model DR92

The DR92 series is the perfect choice for the agency providing EMS transport that wants a wide body but does not need exterior storage. The DR92 is built with the same body as the old SR3 series, only widened to fit on a standard dual rear wheel 138" chassis.

AEV Flightline Z5

The Z5 Type III ambulance is AEV's "program" vehicle for the modular user wanting all the basic options without the expense of a custom unit. The Z5 comes with many popular options including a 16" cab extension, which gives the crew extra space to carry personal equipment and stretch out for those long "system status" days.

AEV Type III 148" Body

The traditional type modular ambulance built on a 138" cut-away chassis, the AEV Type III offers plenty of working space in the interior along with lots of exterior storage. Exterior compartments include pass thru for jump kits and vertical backboard storage. The Type III can be fully customized to meet your exact requirements.

AEV Type III 164" Body

Since the introduction of the Ford V10 gas engine, the long wheelbase units have become the most popular Type III ambulances on the market. Combining the long bodies, high headroom, large payload, and a smooth ride, the AEV Type III makes for the perfect all-around ambulance.

AEV Type I 148" Body

The AEV Type I ambulance offers a 144" modular body on a Ford or Chevrolet conventional chassis. The Type I is the perfect choice for the fire department or ambulance service requiring a four wheel drive chassis, as the conversion is available as an OEM option. AEV offers either a pass-through or crawl-through configuration.

AEV Model 172" Traumahawk

The Model 172" is for the customer who needs as much storage as possible and still wants the value of an AEV. The 172" has a longer body as well as more headroom. It is available either as a Chevy or Ford Type III or a Ford or Dodge Type I.
